Child Pornography Charges Laid
On February 29, 2024, detectives with the Technological Crime Unit charged 27-year-old Clint Aikens with possession of child pornography.
In November 2023, detectives began an investigation into potential child sexual abuse material activity on social media in Sault Ste. Marie. As a result of the investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Lake Street on January 11, 2024. While executing the search warrant detectives seized several electronic devices.
Following extensive examination of the devices seized, detectives found evidence of child sexual abuse material.
On February 29, 2024 around 9:30 a.m. detectives located the accused and they were arrested.
They are charged with,
- Possession of Child Pornography
- Importing and Distributing Child Pornography x5
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
